Intro into gemcutting: Class is 1 day and you will facet a round brilliant stone. Cost is $75.00

Faceting gemstones: Learn to facet 3 different cuts. You will facet at least 3 rounds, 2 squares, and 3 emerald cut stones. Also in this class you will be calibrating. Approximately 50 hours. Cost is $375.00
CompleteGemcutting: This class is approximately 80 hours. You start with a round brilliant cut and once that is mastered, you proceed to squares and emerald cuts. This class also includes cabochon cutting. By the end of the class you should be able to facet three different patterns and cabochon cutting without assistance. You will leave with approximate 15 cut gemstones. The class schedule is set at times that are convenient, every student has his or her own schedule.

Cabochon Cutting: This class is approximately 20 hours and includes freeform, oval, rectangle and heart shapes. Cost is $175.00. email: rroberts@lapidarysource.com
Metal smithing: This class is always taught one on one. Our original idea for doing this was for safety purposes but our students like the idea of having their own instructor. In this class you are able to accomplish whatever your ability allows you to do. You have hands on instruction at the beginning and most of our students are able to finish at least 1 piece in a 2 hour block.

Wire wrapping: There are 3 classes: Beginners, Intermediate, and advanced. Beginners class, you learn how to create a wire wrapped pendant using a cabochon cut stone, Intermediate class, you learn how to make a wire wrap bracelet and the advanced class is a ring with a cabochon stone. After each class practice at home is needed to proceed to the next level.
The cost of the class is $30.00 plus materials. We require all students to purchase wire from our shop or a $10.00 lab fee will incur.

Wax Carving: Learn to carve your own design out of wax to make your own custom jewelry piece. Cost is $30.00 per hour plus materials

Casting: Cast your own design of choose one from our book of waxes. Cast your ring, pendant etc. Class takes approximately 2 hours and takes 2 days to allow for burn out.
